A bit of info on my 66 Satellite: I have been slowly restoring the car since the early 90`s. I was happy to complete the project last year (as if they are ever complete). My Satellite has had many major updates. To date I have removed the original 318 Poly and installed a 440 dated (23/11/65) with a major rebuild, consisting of, a polished crank, melling high volume oil pump, windage tray, a 30 overbore, with 10.5 to 1 flat tops. The engine is also balanced. For the cam we chose a Hemi Grind 480/280 hydraulic. The heads received a full pocket porting and installation of 214 intake 181 exhaust stainless valves with hardened seats. Intake is a M1 dual plane from ma Mopar topped with an Edelbrock 750CFM, The ignition is a Mopar Performance unit that we re-curved and re-sprung with an adjustable advance unit set at full advance. I recently installed Mopar 1 3/4 inch headers which i had ceramic coated at Sun View Ind in Summerland BC, The transmission also received an overhaul also with transgo stage 11 shift kit, a Mopar deep sump and clutch packs. Gerry at Thunder Alley Transmissions just installed a new 2800 stall converter along with a tranny cooler just to keep things cool with the added slip the converter will have. I recently exchanged the 3:91 sure grip a more gas easy set of 2:73`s. I have a set of 3:55`s in the workings now and should have them installed hopfully with a few days/weeks/who knows. The rear springs are Mopar 66 Satellite Hemi car stock replacements which have the added leaf but retain the original length.I am presently working a trick rear suspension and will update as i progress. I will add further updates to this page as things are completed thnx Jim
